Secretary Vilsack Responds to 2024 Farm Income Forecast

Decreasing global demand makes domestic support more crucial.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack responded to the 2024 Farm Sector Income Forecast, a predictive dataset aggregated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) every year.

According to the report, U.S. agriculture reached historic highs between 2021 and 2023. During that time America’s farming sector recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic more quickly than the rest of the globe, and many countries imported U.S. agricultural products to make up for shortfalls. As global economic stability increases, the USDA predicts that there will be less income in 2024, which Secretary Vilsack is preparing his department to help mitigate.

“The forecast underscores the critical importance of USDA’s ongoing work to help foster prosperity for producers and the communities they love by supporting an economy that grows from the bottom up and the middle out,” Secretary Vilsack said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack as he oversees efforts to increase domestic support for U.S. agriculture.
  • For USDA officials as they assess the global agricultural economy and provide programs to assist U.S. farmers and producers.
